For the first time since I have been homeschooling, I have actually already started getting what I need for next year...I am usually buying stuff during the summer and still trying to get what I need once the year has already started...But not this year...I am trying to be more organized and efficient this year, and part of being an efficient homeschooler is having a plan...It is hard to have a plan when the year starts and you don't even have all the materials you are trying to make a plan with!...I decided this upcoming school year would be different...I will get what I need during the spring, plan over the summer, and execute during the fall...
I decided to go with Memoria Press full packages this upcoming year...I have never used a full package before, so I am a little nervous...I have been wanting a Christian Classical education for the boys, and have been pulling together pieces from so many different places...I believe it will be easier for me to accomplish what I want to accomplish using Memoria Press...It is very well planned out, and the teacher's guides are very user friendly...There is a strong focus on all the things I think are important in a good education (more about that in another post)...It has a bit of a different scope and sequence than the one I thought of, but that is not necessarily a con...There is no guarantee that what I thought of would have been better anyway since I am definitely still learning - learning about education and how to be an effective teacher to boys of different ages and grade levels...I am looking forward to next year, so I was so excited to see this arrive yesterday...

I am expecting another, much smaller, package today...
Until next time...
